PRESIDENT

Amin Hashwani serves as the President of the NOWPDP Executive Committee. He secured his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and is a recipient of several international awards for his work, including an Honorary Doctorate from USA. He founded and continues to support various social initiatives in the fields of education, health, youth development, culture, and peace. Amin Hashwani is undoubtedly one of the biggest supporters of disability inclusion in Pakistan and started NOWPDP in 2008 with passion towards serving one of the most marginalized societies in Pakistan.

Amin Hashwani serves as the President of the NOWPDP Executive Committee. Ronak Lakhani currently serves as Vice President of the NOWPDP Executive Committee. Ms. Lakhani is also the Chairperson of Special Olympics Pakistan. In recognition of her selfless services to persons with disabilities, the government honored Ronak Lakhani with Sitara-e-Imtiaz, the fourth-highest decoration given to any civilian in the country based on one’s extraordinary achievement.

Ronak Lakhani currently serves as Vice President of the NOWPDP Executive Committee. Ms. Lakhani is also the Chairperson of Special Olympics Pakistan. Khayam Hussain serves as a member of the NOWPDP Executive Committee. A graduate of the University of Houston and Pepperdine University, Khayam Hussain is the Managing Director of Automobile Corporation, Pakistan. In addition, Mr. Husain is involved in work for Karachi Relief Trust, the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Road Federation, the Pakistan Trucking Forum, the Association of Road Users of Pakistan (ARUP), and the Charter for Compassion Pakistan.

Khayam Hussain serves as a member of the NOWPDP Executive Committee. A graduate of the University of Houston and Pepperdine University, Khayam Hussain is the Managing Director of Automobile Corporation, Pakistan. Ruhail Muhammad's career spans over 35 years in general management, business development, strategy, financial planning, and people development. He has held various C-suite positions in companies focusing on a diverse range of activities from Chemicals to Energy. He is currently CEO of Lucky Electric Power Company Limited, a 660MW IPP subsidiary of Lucky Cement. Prior to this, he was CEO of Hub Power Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of HUBCO, Pakistan's largest IPP. He was responsible for managing the growing portfolio of HUBCO, evaluating onshore & offshore acquisitions, project financing, economic evaluation of all growth projects, and financial re-engineering to support the growth vision of the Company. Prior to HUBCO, he was the CEO of Engro Fertilizers from 2012-2018. He has served on the Boards of Engro Corp and various Engro subsidiaries.

Laila Dossa is an active member of the NOWPDP Executive Committee. In addition, Laila Dossa is also Chairperson of the JS Academy School for the Deaf; and teaches at Karachi Grammar School. Ms. Dossa has served as the President of the Pakistan Association for the Deaf as well.

Laila Dossa is an active member of the NOWPDP Executive Committee. In addition, Laila Dossa is also Chairperson of the JS Academy School for the Deaf; and teaches at Karachi Grammar School. Ms. Dossa has served as the President of the Pakistan Association for the Deaf as well.

Hasnat Hashwani is an active member of the NOWPDP Executive Committee. She graduated from UC BERKELEY in 2017. Currently, she is the CEO of Wholesome Foods and is also working as a General Manager of ZAPP – a real-time e-commerce venture. Sima Kamil

Sima Kamil

Ms. Sima Kamil brings over 30 years of experience in Corporate and Investment Banking to the NOWPDP Board. She has served as Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and was the first woman to become President of a commercial bank in Pakistan at United Bank Limited, one of the country’s leading banks. Prior to that, she was Group Head at Habib Bank Limited. Ms. Kamil holds a bachelor’s degree from Kingston University and a master’s degree from City, University of London. She is also on the Boards of Karachi Grammar School, Notre Dame Institute of Education, and Holy Family Hospital. She played an instrumental role in shaping SBP’s 2021 Financial Inclusion Policy for disability inclusion. Her strategic expertise and dedication add immense value to NOWPDP’s mission of fostering opportunities for persons with disabilities in Pakistan.
